My journey
Jean-Marc Ouattara is an Ivorian-Canadian painter, based in Quebec (Canada), who is committed and passionate about issues of cultural diversity and living together.
Born in Ivory Coast, he first studied at the Lycée d'Enseignement Artistique d'Abidjan, then at the École des Beaux-Arts d'Abidjan, before continuing his training in Canada, at Laval University in the Faculty of Visual Arts.
With his experiences and his dual culture ,
Jean-Marc Ouattara seeks to build bridges between peoples and cultures through his art.
A graduate in Visual Arts and exhibited on numerous occasions, he promotes values such as peace, tolerance and sharing, while denouncing injustices, exclusions and social inequalities.
His artistic work , influenced by the aesthetics of the African mask, addresses major contemporary themes such as global conflicts, racism, climate change, biodiversity and the human condition.
